Job Description: Kansas City University (KCU) is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Videographer/Editor to join our University Relations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing compelling video content that supports the university's branding, recruitment, alumni engagement, fundraising, and internal communication initiatives. This role requires strong storytelling ability, technical proficiency in filming and editing, and a collaborative spirit to work with stakeholders across the university.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Plan, shoot, and edit video content for a wide range of university communications, including promotional videos, event coverage, interviews, social media, and internal messaging.
- Collaborate with the University Relations team, faculty, students, and leadership to conceptualize and execute video projects that align with KCU's mission and goals.
- Manage all aspects of video production, including lighting, audio, camera operation, and post-production editing using industry-standard tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
- Organize and maintain video assets, project files, and equipment.
- Ensure all content adheres to KCU branding and accessibility standards.
- Capture high-quality B-roll and still photography as needed.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for video shoots across KCU's campuses.
- Stay current with video trends and best practices in higher education and digital marketing.
- Assist in the development of scripts, storyboards, and shot lists.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Film/Media Production, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in video production and editing.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of video work, from concept to final product.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of camera equipment, lighting setups, and audio recording.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in higher education or nonprofit environments.
- Motion graphics and animation skills.
- Photography skills and experience editing still images.
- Familiarity with digital asset management systems.
