Summary

The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) - Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder Center - is seeking a Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder Center Physician Assistant. The Center consists of 26 inpatient beds - a comprehensive outpatient clinic - Telehealth capabilities - Home Care program and a therapy department equipped with a full spectrum of training devices and therapy pool. The SCI Center serves as a VA referral center for the Southwest region. The Center is affiliated with the University of New Mexico.

Duties

• VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package
• Major duties will include but are not limited to: Management of inpatient - outpatient - and homecare panel participation in patient care using technology such as telemedicine - continuous improvement activities - and CARF and JCAHO compliance
• Provide a full range of services including inpatient - outpatient - and homecare assessment and care of both acute and chronic persons with Spinal Cord Injury or Disorders
• Participate effectively in team meetings and treatment planning conferences - and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in a manner that enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care
• Ensure that the practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission - CARF - VA policies and procedures - clinical practice guidelines - VISN standards - national statutes and regulations - medical record documentation - mandatory continuing education - and HIPAA policies
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief - Spinal Cord Injury and the applicants experience and expertise in the field of SCl/D Medicine
• Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00am-4:30pm - may include rotating weekend and holiday call Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position
