  • Deliver subject specific instruction and enrichment in a club-based after school model.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants

  • Build strong relationships with students and promote academic motivation and the development of 21st century skills.
  • Track student progress and communicate updates, as needed.
  • Each Instructor is supported by a program assistant (YMCA staff team member).

What we're looking for:

  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Expeirence coaching football or flag football. Ability to provide weekly flag football clinics that help with skill development (no games, no travel, no competition with other teams--this is strictly skill development and scrimmages).

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create a welcoming and supportive enrichment environment.
  • Availability on school days; approximately up to 2-6 hours per week – max number of hours per week is 6. This is a part-time, seasonal position. This position is typically two (2) days per week, for two (2) hours per day with hours typically taking place after school between 3:00pm-5:30pm. This is a club-based model, and clubs are usually offered twice a week (M/W or T/Th) or three days a week (M/W/F).
  • Eagerness to contribute to a diverse and inclusive community.

Compensation

  • Level I Instructor: $25-$35/per hour for hours of instruction.
  • Level II Instructor: $35-$50/per hour for hours of instruction.
  • This position has a non-negotiable training wage of $17.87/per hour for mandatory work related training outside of instruction.

To ease the onboarding experience, hired candidates will be provided with access to complete a mandatory TB Test clearance, at no cost, prior to their first scheduled shift. The YMCA also provides all new employees with access to paid CPR/First Aid certification training, at no cost, to be completed within 60 days of hire.
