Job Description

The Community Resource Specialist (CRS) will be working with stakeholders, community-based organizations, faith-based groups, school personnel, healthcare professionals, and service providers, as well as employers and potential sponsors. He/she will be an integral part of a statewide team. He/she will be responsible for doing outreach, in-person training, and awareness activities in Broward and/or  Dade Counties. He/she will also be recruiting volunteers, potential community partners, and donors. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct presentations and training on seizure first aid and epilepsy awareness through community outreach events at schools, doctor offices, and professional conferences.
• Input data entry into the database.
• Assist with coordination of agency and department activities.
• Keep supervisor apprised of incoming requests or issues.
• Assist in volunteer management activities and schedules.
• Participate in all organizational development activities.
• Consistently treat colleagues and customers/donors/board members with dignity and respect; reflect professionalism and cooperative spirit.                                         
• Organize tasks efficiently, maintain focus and stay productive.               
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of Epilepsy Florida services.
• Abide by all EFLA and state policies, procedures, and mandates.
• Must be willing to travel, have a valid driver’s license, and insured vehicle.
• Must be able to carry 25 pounds
• Positively represent the agency at all times.
• Responsible for completing all other tasks related to this position as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (preferred)
• Minimum 1-3 Years' experience in community education, health education, public speaking, and/or advocacy, is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
• Must have reliable transportation 
• Must be able to carry 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work independently and be available for some nights and weekends.
• Salary range: $17-22/HR
